JOIFF Accredited Training

The JOIFF Diploma Program develops advanced competencies in industrial firefighting, emergency response management, and high-hazard risk control. 

Training combines operational theory, leadership principles, and scenario-based decision-making aligned with JOIFF’s international best emergency response skills across 24 units, designed to build safe, consistent capability for high-hazard sites.

• Strengthen fundamentals such as personal safety, fire science, firefighting media, and fire safety practice.

• Build operational competence in hydrant/hose/pump drills and the operational use of SCBA.

• Develop practical skills through workplace application supported by structured learning.

JOIFF eLearning is designed for flexible access (computer or smart device) and can be completed around shift patterns; learners provide evidence for units/elements, assessed by an assessor and externally verified by approved Consultants.

A JOIFF-accredited progression pathway to deepen technical knowledge and skills for industrial emergency responders through 7 units with defined outcomes; which are:

• Expand knowledge in areas such as fire engineering science, fixed installations, and process industry context.

• Strengthen technical judgement and application through structured unit evidence.

• Maintain competence development while working flexibly around operations.

Responders who are developing beyond core skills into more technical emergency response competence can attend this program.

Self-paced JOIFF eLearning (computer/mobile); evidence-based assessment reviewed by an assessor and externally verified by approved Consultants.

This program provides specialized training in hazardous materials identification, risk assessment, and emergency response strategies. Participants learn to manage chemical incidents safely, including containment, mitigation, and coordination with multi-agency response teams. Training reflects JOIFF guidance and international HazMat response principles and outcomes are:

• Apply appropriate PPE selection/use and safe response practices during HazMat incidents.

• ​Improve incident management actions, including evidence preservation where required.

• Build confidence through practical work plus individual research/study.

This online competency programme is good for emergency responders who may need to prepare for, manage, and evaluate hazardous materials incidents.

Evidence-based completion requiring practical work and study; assessed and results verified in line with the JOIFF approach described for JOIFF programmes.
