Barış Gemalmaz is an HSE, Fire Safety, Emergency & Crisis Management professional with 25 years of progressive experience in high‑risk industries. He holds a Mining Engineering degree from Middle East Technical University and he is certified in NEBOSH Process Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Fire Safety, and also holds the British Safety Council International Diploma in Safety Management. His qualifications include NFPA Fire Inspector I and NFPA Firefighter I & II, along with interior and exterior industrial firefighting credentials and additional specialist emergency response training.

Since 2025, he has been the Founder and Principal of Gemalmaz Consultancy and Training Company, delivering consultancy and training services. He also serves as the JOIFF Ambassador for Türkiye. 

His leadership roles include HSE, ER and Technical Safety at BP, Botaş Intenraitonal Limited, TÜPRAŞ, Karadeniz Holding, ROO (Iraq). 

Among his notable achievements, he led the design, construction, and international accreditation of Türkiye’s first JOIFF‑accredited industrial fire training facility at İzmir Refinery (2023). He also led NFPA Proboard and JOIFF certification projects for BOTAŞ International and TÜPRAŞ firefighting teams. In addition, he contributed to the establishment of Türkiye’s first Firefighting Vocational School at Çukurova University. Across his career, he has built full-scope emergency preparedness systems (including firefighting, inland/offshore oil spill response, and crisis command protocols) and spearheaded road and traffic safety culture transformation programs to improve safety outcomes.

Can Boga is a senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with over 20 years of international experience across oil & gas, mining, construction, and engineering projects. 

He has worked on large-scale, high-risk projects in Iraq, Türkiye, the Caucasus, the Balkans, and the Middle East, holding key roles in HSE leadership, supervision, governance, and advisory functions.

He holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from METU, and he is a CRSP diploma holder and a Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 with strong expertise in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

His professional strengths include incident investigation, root cause and causal analysis, management of high-potential near misses, and the implementation and assurance of Control of Work and Permit-to-Work systems. 

At Kent Plc, he led complex incident investigations, coordinated corrective actions with contractors, and strengthened organizational learning through lessons learned, safety alerts, and trend analysis. He has held senior HSE management and advisory roles with Wood, Bechtel-Enka, BP, Viking Drilling, and TP-OTC, supporting both EPC and operator organizations.

In addition, he has extensive experience in establishing HSE management systems from inception, integrating corporate and project-level systems, managing subcontractor HSE performance, and supporting bid and contract HSE documentation. He has designed and delivered HSE training programs, managed multinational HSE teams, and worked effectively in remote and challenging environments.

Betul Kote is a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) professional with 13+ years of experience across construction, pipeline, power, oil & gas, and refinery projects. 

She has a proven track record of building high-performing, zero-incident safety cultures and ensuring compliance with Alberta OHS, ISO 45001, and COR requirements. Her expertise spans EHS program implementation, risk and hazard assessment, and the review and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and document control systems. She also brings strong hands-on capability in Permit-to-Work coordination and contractor management. In addition, she supports emergency response planning and has led large-scale ERP drills to strengthen site readiness and coordination. She is highly skilled in incident investigation and root-cause analysis, and in managing incident and near-miss reporting systems to drive timely, effective corrective actions. 

Her toolset includes SynergiLife, Quest, Gensuite, and QDMS, as well as training and induction platforms. She has held senior HSE roles on major EPC and energy projects, including SOCAR STAR Refinery, Schlumberger (Sakarya Gas Field), GE Power, and Petrofac. 

Her credentials include ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor (BSI), NEBOSH IGC, OSHA Construction Safety, and multiple Canadian safety certifications including First Aid/CPR and Energy Safety Canada orientations. She holds a Master’s equivalency in Occupational Health & Safety, an MBA, and a BSc (Honours) in Chemistry.
